Aircraft Checkout

1  Initial multiengine rating from RMFS.

2  Aircraft checkout and annual proficiency check with Chris Murtaugh.

3  Required for constant speed prop, not retractable landing gear.

Aircraft checkouts are required for the rental of all aircraft.  Getting checked out in a new airplane is also a great way to challenge yourself by keeping your flying skills fresh while learning new systems and flight characteristics!

An Aircraft Checkout Form is required for each Make & Model of aircraft you wish to fly.  Information to complete the form can be found in the aircraft POH,  on the aircraft page, and on the Downloads page.  Completed forms must be signed and dated by both the member pilot and a RMFS instructor.  Pilot Information Manuals are available for purchase in our pilot shop.

The flight portion of the aircraft checkout will generally include basic flight maneuvers including (but not limited to) slow flight, stalls, steep turns, emergency procedures, and landings.
