A Bit About Colby
Colby's aviation ambitions started with a family friend offering a scenic flight in 2005. Aviation would then lie dormant until mid career in the Army as a Forward Observer/(JFO), working closely with military aviators. After moving back to the US from finishing his last enlistment in Germany, Colby started flight training at the Eagle Airport near his home of Glenwood Springs in late 2018. Once private training was completed, he moved to Broomfield to start A&P school at Spartan while simultaneously doing Instrument training at RMFS. Finishing that, the next step was commercial training, while starting the first maintenance job working at Mountain Aviation on their fleet of jets. At the end of 2023, he finished commercial training and started pursuing his CFI certification. Now working as a CFI at RMFS, Colby's goals are to continue his education in aviation and eventually progress to fly corporate jets, the Citation X in particular.
